Nuclear Fallout Protection

The primary things you must do to survive a nuclear war are:

1. Locate yourself in an area that is at least 100 miles away from a major city. If you are in the United States, many places in the Rocky Mountains are good.

2. You must then have a fallout shelter and radiation monitoring equipment so you can monitor the amount of radiation exposure that people are getting in the shelter, as well as when they go out of the shelter to do errands. The shelter must have proper air ventilation, sanitation and food storage for 6 weeks, preferably more. You can expect to be in the shelter full-time for at least two weeks, and part time for a number of weeks thereafter, depending on what you find when you monitor the radiation exposure people are getting when out of the shelter. The younger your children are, the more essential it is that they have immediate and ongoing protection from fallout.
